IPA Updates
Team Grades The team
grading is changing for the rest of this
season. These are going into effect immediately
for the Horetown tournament.
A Grade: Cap of
24 points on first section and a cap of 20 on the second
section
B Grade: Cap of 16
points on both sections
...................................
Juniors: Junior A and
Junior B is to be replaced by a single junior grade with
no cap on the points.
Primary Juniors, C and D grade were
not changed.
Each club is to nominate a coaching
officer who will be working with Sharon Kennedy to
implement a structured coaching program in each club. It
is envisioned that the IPA coaching program will be
implemented under guidelines and assistance from
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI).
Each club needs to nominate an
umpiring rep to work with Chief Umpire Brendan Liddy.
The purpose of this role will be to improve the level of
umpiring in each club.
Each club is to grade their
members for umpiring. The umpiring grades will be from 0
(New umpire with no experience) to a maximum grade of 4
(capable of umpiring at International
Level).
These umpiring grades will be used for
scheduling at each tournament. This should
ensure at least 1 experienced umpire is on the
pitch at all times as this has been an issue at recent
tournament
